The Worst Day Ever

July 16th was the worst days of my mama life so far. At approximately 8:00pm, Joziah fell haphazardly on a ball on the trampoline and started to scream. Curtis went out and brought him into the house. The look of sheer pain and panic on Joziah's face alerted me that something was seriously wrong.  We laid him in his bed and he would not let us touch him.  We figured out the area that was hurting was his arm.  He drifted off to sleep and I thought we had dodged a bullet.

Fast forward 20 minutes.....screaming child awake!  Curt took him to the ER while I stayed back with Bella who had her friend spending the time and my brother who was passed out with jet lag.

It was excruciating to wait on Curtis' updates via texts from the ER.  He let me know that it was indeed broken and he'd go over everything with me when he got home.

I wasn't prepared for what followed when he returned home  He pulled me into the kitchen and let me know that the reason it broke was because there was a bone cyst there which weakened the bone.  This was a game changer because now not only were we dealing with a broken bone, but we would have to follow up with X-rays and MRIs and specialists to see what kind of cyst it was.

As if this wasn't enough, this all transpired 20 hours before we were heading out on our Griswold European Vacation.  We had an appointment the next morning with the Orthopedic Surgeon to see if we were still going to be able to go.

I managed to get a smile out of him for a brief second.
