Luton Hoo

For years, Curtis has been part of a Lakenheath Golf Team that participates in a twice yearly Ryder Cup against a prestigious British Golf Club down on the outskirts of London. In doing so, he has befriended a great group of golf enthusiasts.  This summer, one of his friends invited us to an Annual Event that has been taking place for 30 years.....A Golf Weekend in honor of he and his wife's Anniversary.  Since the day this couple was married, they have put together an entire weekend of celebration with their friends at various golf resorts around England for each of their anniversaries.  This one happened to be their 30th and it took place at Luton Hoo Golf and Spa Hotel.

The entire weekend is full of golf and family.  They choose their venue based on how family-oriented it is.  We were lucky enough to be home for the summer and available to attend.  It was a wonderful getaway and we met some great people.
Daddy didn't have to tee off until 2pm so when we got there we started our adventure by checking out the grounds.

Joziah was scared to head into a wooded area.

Luton Hoo Golf and Spa hotel covers 1,046 acres.  The main hotel was an 18th century mansion which has a rich history.

Inside the main hotel

As I mentioned, the estate is huge.  The horse stables and smaller house was made into more hotels rooms, two restaurants, pool and the Spa. These traditional black cabs took you from the main house to this area.

Bella met a friend in this courtyard on our first day.

Here's a better view of this cool courtyard.  We stayed in a room in the house in the very back of this picture.  This is also where the clubhouse is.

It's tradition that everyone comes out to watch the first tee off. The kids who are participating tee off first.

This is what it looks like to go into the courtyard

Our room was a typical English room

We had a little patio and "back yard".

Room service after a day at the pool.  The hotel staff also brings around chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven at 3pm each day.  Hello, Heaven, is this you?

On the first night, there was a fancy plated dinner.  This is my adorable crew.

Excuse my neck angle, but we were trying to take a selfie.

This is the first time Bella has had an official name card

We spent one of the days at a local zoo

Joziah was very excited when he spotted the giraffes.

Flamingos!

There was a train that went all around the zoo and Joziah was eager to get aboard.

Legoland Adventures- Day 2

We spent the 4th of July at Legoland for Round 2. It was another fabulous day!
My two bambinos truly love each other.  They were watching TV like this before we headed out.
Bella hollered, "Hey guys, we actually do have a microwave, its just in the closet."  Haha!

Sporting the refillable slushy cups, we were ready to conquer Day 2!

Joziah and I waited outside of Atlantic because it was too dark for him.

The big Legoland event....getting your Driver's License!

Even Joziah managed to get his

I loved this part of the park.  It absolutely amazes me at what they build with legos.  I decided it is going to be my next job!

We rounded off the day with a little competition.  Who could put out the fire, first.  Team Briggs or Team Engel.
