Clever Girl

Bella is an all around lovely child. One amazing part of her personality is her love of learning and intellect. She is constantly making up educational games and figuring out how things connect in the world around her.  Her British teachers call her "such a clever girl!" Of course, being the bias momma that I am, I completely agree!
This was the "Under the Sea" mobile she made for her home learning project.  She read 5 nonfiction books about some sea animals and wrote down one fact about each of them.  Then, she had to come up with one question about the sea and she came up with, "How deep is the sea?"

The sea shells came from the beach on the Isle of Wight.

Mommy helped with some of the drawings by providing an outline, but Bella added the details.

Another home learning project involved Math (momma's favorite). She had to use socks to investigate number and record number sentences.  She only was asked to use 5 pairs.  But, we took it to a whole new level as we used ALL OF HER SOCKS.

She put them into groups of 10 (5 pairs) and used skip counting by 10's and place value to figure out she owns 112 socks!

Then, she wrote about it in her Math Journal

Bella loves this Math Mat. It calls out a math fact and she jumps on the answer.
