Scarecrows in June?

I remember one time long ago my friend Amanda told me about a Scarecrow Festival in Barton Mills (which is a local village). So, as I was driving one morning this June I saw an advertisement for it and it just so happened that the date of it coincided with a day we were planning to get together anyway. PERF! She was delighted with the plan and we set off to explore the festivities.

Basically, the residents in the village create a scarecrow in their yard and people tour through the village looking at them and participating in various activities.  We took some pictures of some of the most creative.  Our day included a trip to the village park and watching a dog show, too.  It was a super hot day, but we all had a great time and I am happy to say that I have been to the Scarecrow Festival.....even though it was a little weird to be in the summer!

Bella and Scarlett checked out the scene.

This was a War Horse in honor of the anniversary of the invasion of Normandy.

Joziah enjoyed a snooze.

The local church had some crafts.  The kids painted some stones.

Big boy woke up for the festivities.

There was a Gruffalo forest walk but unfortunately Bella got a tummy ache right after this photo and we had to leave.

Joziah is such a trooper...he just loves chillin and watching the action around him.

This guy kept coming around in this cool buggy/car.
